Installing above table winder for RTA300
Hi guys,
Just purchased an above table winder for my router table, but there doesn't appear to be a hole to allow the winder to go through the router mounting plate or sub plate. Has anyone found this problem and resolved it? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Corders

You have to drill a hole. I'm sure the instructions have that

See Page 4 of the Instructions
See Page 4 of the Triton Router Accessory Kit for Instructions on drilling the hole and calibration marks.

Hi Chris and Brian,
I purchased the winder by itself without any instructions, or the guide kit. So as such I have no instructions. I assumed you would have to drill a hole, but the key is getting it in the right position.
Any Idea where I can get a copy of the instructions?
Cheers,
Paul

WAIT!
Before you do any drilling, make sure that the insert plate is in the correct orientation relative to the table.
You may be aware that the clear part of the dust shroud is detachable from the fence and can be used as a start pin and shroud on freehand routing. The shroud snaps into two slots and locks into a third perpendicular central slot in the insert.
In order to use this feature, the insert plate MUST be correctly positioned - i.e., with the single longer slot away from the operator. The whole insert will operate fine in either orientation, but can only be used as described if inserted correctly.
If you fail to do this, the winding handle will be in the wrong place relative to the fence.

Hi guys,
Thanks for the information. Ray you are a life saver I will now ensure that I have the orientation right before drilling. And Blackhole thanks for the image as I wasn't aware that the increments aorund the winder equated to 0.2 mm.

I bought one recently but then realised that I have the cast frame not the pressed steel one. Is there a solution to this as there is no cutout on the cast frame.
Cheers

Hi
Is the only solution to buy the later pressed steel saw mounting frame or can the cast one be adapted, please?
Cheers

Peter, Corders bought the winder for the ROUTER table, which only has a pressed steel plate.
It appears atht you are referring to the SAW height winder. If you have a cast mount, then you have a Mk 3 and would require the mounting plate upgrade to be compatible with the height winder. If that is not rigth are you able to post a picture of what plate you have?

Hi
Thanks for that. I hadn't realised he was talking about a router raiser.
Yes, I meant the saw mounting plate. I bought the raising mechanism, then realised from the instruction sheet that my saw mounting plate is a cast one and the instructions show a pressed steel one with a cutout on it, which isn't on the cast one. My Worktable is a 2000 but I guess is earlier production, that still had the cast plate.
Cheers

I would also like to know.
