    Default Makita Model 3600 and Triton router table

    Hi all, just popped up from the wooden boat builders section.

    Have a Makita Model 3600 router and wondering if this unit will fit the Triton router table okay?

    Also is there any suggested places to get a table south of Adelaide and approx. cost please.

    Default Plunge

    Aberdeen,

    The Makita 3600HA is a fixed base router with a D type handle. Not sure if this is the same as your 3600 or not.

    The 3600HA will just fit into the router slide plate at a pinch, but not into the RTA300, latest model of router table.

    The router table is designed for "Plunge routers" Yet to find a plunge router that does not fit.

    Post Table router

    G'day commodore.
    If its a Makita 3600BR it fits beautifully. I have had mine in a Triton router table for years. The only downside is its a real bugger changing bits with two spanners. And its very hard to avoid banging the adjusment shafts with the spanners. If you can afford it look around for a second hand 3600BR so you can leave it perjmanently in the table. It won't matter if a second hand machine doesn't have all the guides. Other than that Buy a Maktec. Its a lower quality but still good router ideal for a table. It has the same base as the Makita 3600BR. If you do get a Maktec check the adjustment up and down with the wheel before you take it home as it can stick when reducing depth of cut because it racks.

    Hi there everyone,

    Well if someone here doesnt know, then it aint with knowing I thought.

    To me it seems like a pretty good deal.

    But hey, most of you guys are the experts.

    If I do buy it I will leave the Makita permently in it. I'll only change the heights and the bits.

    Maybe a
    Router RaiZer might be the way to go.

    A Makita Model 3600BR Router last sold on ebay for $100 recently.

    Glen,

    I have a 3600 BR fitted to the early triton table 2000 series I think. When I fitted My router I drilled four small holes and counter sunk them. If you remove the phenolic or plastic ring off the bottom of the router and use the same screws to mount the router to the plate. Have a think about this idea as it has worked for me for five or more years.

    I have the 3600BR fitted currently to the new table, but it was swapped form the old model table when I upgraded. as mentioned above. The only problems I have had was he bit changing taking of my knuckles
    I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.
