Default Parts for 15 inch Triton Thicknesser

    Hi,

I have a friend who owns a 15" Triton Thicknesser on which the feed mechanism had stopped working.

Me being an engineering sort said i would take a look. It looks like the chain that drives the feed rollers has come off its sprockets and in the process has done some damage to some of the small idler sprockets that it loops around.

I am hoping that these teethed sprockets would be a standard part used in other machinery and that i would be able to get replacements from somewhere.

I would be grateful if anyone could give me any tips on where i might be able to get these sprockets from.

I could get a picture and more information on the broken parts if anyone needs more information.

    Thanks
    Simon

    Default Me too

Replying to the old post in the event someone else like I did googles this problem and discovers it (and hopefully has a solution)

Exact same thing happened to mine. Destroyed a sprocket.

As Triton is no more I found a company in the US called Grizzly that re badge the exact same machine however to buy the sprocket involved a minimum order of $200 before they'd think about shipping overseas (jerks)

I ended up getting a local engineering shop to make me one.

I bent everything back into shape, took the rollers out and gave them a good clean and improved their movement heaps (I was thinking the tight rollers were putting too much pressure on the drive and was the cause of the problem)

Everything seemed as it should so started it up and on the the 2nd feed through Bang!! busted again.

I've given up on it and haven't been able to find a solution anywhere online.

If anyone's got any ideas I'd love to hear them.

    Cheers

    Sy
