I had some orange enamel made up quite some ago at Bristol paints here in Melb.

The formula on the can is XK 55, XBPU 161, XF 5, XG 41 in C base. That may make sense to someone in a good paint store.

This has been discussed on the forum here a few times so a search may also shed some light

    Hope that helps

Thanks guys. It's just surface rust, it hasn't gotten to the point of seriously pitting or warping the table surface. It's just the bubbling and flaking of the paint and rust causing an uneven surface.

I got myself some White Knight stuff. So far I've scraped off all the loose paint, and scrubbed off as much rust as I could by hand, before applying some rust converter. Unfortunately I think I should have probably got out a wire brush attachment for a drill or something, because the rust converter didn't clean as much rust as I'd hoped. some spots went back to pure sheet metal, but a lot of it was converted to black iron phosphate. Not a problem, except it won't be quite so flat. I'm hoping the metal primer and the enamel top coat will minimise it's effect, as it feels ALMOST smooth to the touch.

I also got some white knight spray enamel in the colour Golden Yellow. It seems pretty damn close to the original colour of the table actually, although that's going by the little printed colour square on the can rather than any testing. If it isn't close enough, I might get some paint made up later.

I also had to remove the tapes for the fence from the surface, in order to protect them. Here's hoping I can stick them back on with a reasonable degree of accuracy :P
