    Default Mod for Powered Respirator

Whilst I don't use the Triton respirator, I have modified my 3M Dustmaster waist belt which should be somewhat similar to the Triton system.

Basically the nylon waist belt was replaced with a line workers body belt - the type which is fitted with a buttock strap and not fitted with a permanently attached pole strap. The brand used was a Fallright Int. moulded backed belt. By unstitching the buttock strap back to the belt end, I was able to remove the pole strap attachment rings and was left with the straps on each side to attach the fan unit. By using two 3 bar buckles the fan unit was locked onto the belt assy. This is difficult to explain - see the pics.

End result is a very comfortable fan unit which doesn't dig into you

    Hello Mark,
    Thanks for the belt tips.

By the way have you purchased a new workcentre, the pictures seem to appear that way?

The w/c is about 12 to 18 months old with a six months Triton saw underneath and thats the one thats been so annoying going out of alignment. Still its a far improvement on my old hand held circ saw.

Mark, Duh, what is the red thing that I can see in your pics screwed into the groove of the table top?

    OK Mark

If your saw is cutting squarely you do not have a problem. I myself if I want to rip a 40mm width I set the fence to 41mm. This comes about because I am too lazy to strip the setup down and restart. I know that all cuts are going to be 1mm short, so I compensate.
Perhaps this modus would solve your frustrations.

Sorry, Jow or is it woody - hard to tell in this place.

My frustrations were actually solved in that previous thread called tired of re-aligning work centre where I suggested bolting directly to the saw carriage and aligning via the riving knife in conjunction with the fence numbers - not the fence itself.

Now it cuts like a dream without any serious mis-alignment for both the numbers and the knife.
