Modern routers in MK3 new series
Just a quick question for those that have a workcenter MK3 new series, I am wondering what modern plunge routers will fit in the router/jigsaw mounting plate as I am looking at buying a router and tossing up between a black and decker, makita M or the MT series (green one), a bosch so I can use the router top I would prefer to not go secondhand if I can avoid it. I have only just bought this thing and having to figure everything out by looking at it as it did not come with a manual. If someone could post a pic of their router set up in the mounting plate that would be appreciated then I can actually see how the clamps are meant to sit when holding the router.
Cheers in advance
PS: here is a couple of pictures of the mounting plate for the router

Those plates are pretty adaptable. I used to have one with a big Makita in it and then I put a Triton in. All I found that needed to be done was cut part of one or two clamps away to clear things on the base. The base of the clamps are just slid up to the router base once you get the router centralised with the hole, lock them in place then cut or grind the clamp arms if required. Try to orientate the router so that you only have to cut as little as possible away. The clamps are pretty strong so cutting a bit away does not make them too weak to hold the router securely.
I strongly suggest you get a router that has soft start as big routers without it put a lot of twisting force on the clamps when starting and can cause the router base to rotate in the clamps over time.Dallas

Instructions are here:
Manuals – TOCACT
item M23.
You have a slightly earlier clamp set.

Here is mine, I have an old Ryobi POJ sitting in it for overhead routing. The latest version of the mounting plate instructions are HERE
1A79C8E3-FB78-4F06-953A-CE255197923D.jpg3430FE0D-D91D-4394-BE4E-EFD14F31ED65.jpgC6C1ADB6-21C4-4AA9-8820-D3C7CB7E76C4.jpg95F0134C-E469-4DCC-985B-0BF1C5064925.jpg
As you can see mine is a slightly later version with the longer clamps.
Do you have the alignment disc? If not you can make one out of 3mm MDF, make one disc exactly 65.5mm with a second disc around 68-69mm glued on top of it. Drill a hole accurately in the centre of the smaller disc to suit whatever you are going to use in the router as a centre. A good example would be to fit a 1/2” bearing guided router bit to the router and drill a 1/2” hole in the alignment disc assembly.Nothing succeeds like a budgie without a beak.

I didn't get the alignment disc with it which is a pest and have no way at the moment of cutting some wooden discs, I have a couple of those ryobi routers on my watch list with our local auction site as well as a makita 3620 as a last resort as I am looking for the older type base to suit those clamps it is a shame I can not get some replacement clamps like the ones in your pics as I do not like modifying anything that may be hard to replace if things go pear shaped on me.

Only Router I can find with soft start is the ryobi RRT1600-s I have to keep this purchase no higher than $200 so now looking at what collet sizes I can go to with the particular routers I am looking at in my budget ryobi comes with collets up to 1/2inch where as the others I have been looking at only do 1/4 inch. So right now I am leaning towards the ryobi ($147NZD) or a 900 watt makita MT series 1/4 inch only ($205NZD)just to get me started out. Most of its work will be routing tongue and groove joints to make my potato bins a bit more tidier and the same measurement all around.

The alignment disc is part RTA067.
You could try asking Carbatec (Brisbane)if they have one on 1800 658 111.
Or they are available online from overseas e.g. here:
https://www.woodworkingcentreshop.co.uk/cgi-bin/sh000003.pl?REFPAGE=https%3a%2f%2fwww%2ewoodworkingcentreshop%2eco%2euk%2facatalog%2fTriton_Spares_Workcentre_Attachments%2ehtml&WD=rta067&PN=Spares_Router_Jigsaw_Table_2000_Superseded%2ehtml%23aTRIRTA067#aTRIRTA067
A word of caution however, because Triton changed the size of the hole over time. You need to measure yours and check that the current alignment disc will fit.

Unfortunately I am in New Zealand but there is a carbatec in Auckland so have emailed them with the part number to see if they can do some checking up for me. Plus I have found another triton like mine up for auction at a $1 reserve which appears to have bits with it that I never got when I bought mine off its previous owner

Thanks for that mate, hey Carbatec NZ got back to me and they have the alignment discs in stock with that exact part number for $17.50 heck they even took a photo of it for me to show me so all I have to do is give them a call and make the purchase which I can do at smoko time on Wednesday if I don't get paid early on Tuesday.

Ok, that sounds good. But you still need to check the size if you haven't already.
On this page:
https://www.ebay.com.au/str/adamtool...at=25182136010
you will see examples of both size holes. The one on a red background has the smaller hole, while the one below it has a larger hole, which I think is the current size. yours looks like the one with the smaller hole.
I have one with the smaller hole and its 50mm.

Well I bought a router today from bunnings had to settle for a ryobi RRT1600 as that is the only router bunnings had in stock mitre 10 only had a bosch and a black and decker but to my disappointment the ryobi wont work on the mounting plate for the triton with those older brackets that I have, everything on the router base is just in the way. I will keep looking for an older router that will work with the triton and can take 1/2" as well as 1/4" shanks but I do not mind going freehand with the ryobi in fact it is quite comfortable for me to use as I used it to cut some rebates on the woodworking bench I am building instead of doing cross cuts with the circular saw and then chiseling out the wood. the main reason I wanted to be able to mount the router on a table was for doing stuff like tongue and groove joints and a bit of edge planing when needed.
