Default Replacement brushes for MOF001 router

    Hi all

Any suggestions on where to buy the above?

I only seem to be able to find UK or US sellers online and trying to avoid international postage costs.

    Any ideas of Australian sellers?

    Thank you

    Tony

Seems like they are readily available everywhere except Australia when you do a search. Here is a place that sells brushes through ebay but the link is probably not for the sizes you need. If you look below the picture you will see other brushes listed by others so you could check through them.
The Triton club in Canberra is pretty active and may have some links if you contact them.
Unfortunately spares for Triton have to be sourced through Tool Spares Online in the UK as no-one in Australia carries any especially now while there is no importer for Triton.
Did you conclude that this is the problem with your Router not starting?

Yes in further inspection one of the brushes has a large crack and void in the bottom of it. If i shake the machine a creatin way i can get it to power on for a few seconds and it creates a large amount of sparks. Taking from that there is a good chance if I replace the brushes it might fix the problem.

    Thanks again

Send a message to Timberbits. I got some through them about 5 years ago. It wasn't advertised anywhere, I just asked.

Not sure if they still can but worth a try.

Hmm thanks for the lead. Just called them and unfortunately they no longer supply them.

Crowie gave us the name of a Sydney brush manufacturer and supplier in this thread. Maybe give them a ring with brush dimensions?

    Default generic brushes for Triton

Hi, You can buy generic brushes to fit Triton tools. I took photos of my Triton saw brushes and retrieved a serial number form the top of one, then sent them to an electrical supplier ("Carins rewinds"... Cairns is my nearest city).

They had some in stock, and said they are "generic".

The number "105S" or "1058" was stamped on the carbon block of the brushes.

My saw had been erratic in both start-up and power. I found a tiny hairline crack in one brush. Replaced them and it is going like new......

    Cheers

PS I saved the old ones and you are welcome to have the intact one if you wish

When I did a search for that No.105S they came up in quite a few places and say they are generic, but their sizes vary considerably from site to site. This one is at least in Australia and you could check with them if you measure yours first.

Thanks all for the input. I actually ordered both generic brushes from a Aus supplier and then genuine Triton brushes from the UK. Unfortunately neither have solved the issue.

So I'm now in the market for a new router

Doesn't seem to be any movement on this one yet.

That's a shame. I cleaned the commutator thoroughly on my saw, after reading this: Tool Diagnosis: Is it the Brushes or the Switch? : eReplacementParts.com
