Default Riving knife for Triton Work Centre 2000

Hi team. I've just put a nice new fine blade into the saw on my Triton Work Centre to give a better finish. Trouble is it is narrower than the riving knife where the blade cover and dust extractor sit. Now anything I cut can't get past the knife as the cut is smaller than the knife. Any suggestions? I can either try and grind back the blade and the support post for the plastic cover, or try and suspend the dust cover some other way. Does anyone know if there is a narrower support post/knife I can use? Or any other suggestions? Thanks everyone! ) David

First, welcome to the Forum, David.

Are you sure that is the problem?

I had a similar issue on a Triton Mk3 - timber got jammed against the splitter, but on closer examination the kerf looked wider than the splitter. Problem was that the saw blade wasn't aligning with the splitter and the saw position needed fine tuning. Then no problems.

PS: Although Triton call that unti-kickback device a riving knife it does not rise and fall with the blade so, more correctly, their version should be called a splitter.

I had the same experience as Graeme.
The knife on the mk3 is pretty thin - I can't imagine a blade being thinner.
I think I used a steel rule on each side of the blade to check the position
