I think Barry mentioned in a previous post that Triton have just released a quick release for the router, Just wondering if anyone has seen/got one and is it worth getting.
Cheers

Gidday Finnster!
If you have the Triton Router then DEFINITELY. Cost is $7 to get the replacement plate from Triton. Very quick release and replace for the router, guaranteed to be central without readjusting.
I've bought a couple of extra plates and have mounted them to jigs I have made- allows me to quick-change the jigs, and not have to worry about getting the router dead centre- it already is.
I haven't tried the new plate for a non-Triton router, so can't comment there.
Good to see you at the BBQ. Looking forward to a productive club year.

While you are there- ask them about the changes to the router table fence- a very common sense upgrade to the holding system for the MDF fence-front.

are these changes included in router table RTA300 out of the box?
What are the changes?
I found trying to line up the front and rear MDF fences on the RTA300 a real pain in the bum.How much wood could the woodchuck chuck if the woodchuck could chuck wood?

Re fence
I have already stripped the thread on one of the fence positon stops.
I think the trouble is the base of the fence slips on the RTA300 table perhaps some of this emery type paper should be stuck on Base???

Stripping threads??? How tight are you winding things before deciding something isn't quite right! Never experienced the fence slipping, even when it hasn't been locked down tightly. If you can't find the source of the problem, rather than resorting to emery paper, consider using the microadjusters to add additional support to the fence if you are pushing hard against it. (Ie mount them behind & butt up against the fence to provide additional lateral support.)
re fence mods. Yes- they should be in the box of the new RTA300, so long as you buy new stock.
The main change is the MDF is now "spring loaded"- ie is held in place with a spring mechanism, rather than just nut & bolt. Allows for toolless repositioning of the MDF (such as minimising clearance between the router bit & the fence). Also allows toolless insertion of the fence shims.
BTW, the fence shims are no longer stored in the slots in the fence. The diagonal fence supports (at either end) have a couple of nobs that the shims now fit on. With the addition of the spring upgrade, the original shim storage is lost.
Front & rear MDF should be in line, without needing adjusting, however rounding off the edge of the rear fence will minimise the problem of work catching the edge & getting stuck. A couple of passes with a file is all that is needed- just a light chamfer."Clear, Ease Springs"
