Default Router table adjusting brackets failure

Has anyone experienced the black plastic adjusting brackets on the router table failing. I have tried to adjust mine for square and the threads have failed and constantly fail to grip in the brackets. It seems like I will have to drill out the rivets and find some screws that are bigger and grip the holes more substantially. This happened to anyone else?

I assume your referring to the fence adjustment
Yes , I bought mine second had and all the threads were stripped .This is because the screws are screwed into plastic and over time the plastic lets go.
I inlet hex steel nuts into the plastic araldited them in and used 3/16 machine screws.I cut the plastic hole to the hex shape of the nut ,deep enough to make the nut flush with the bottom face of the bracket.
Its a fiddly job and you need to have a very sharp chisel
Difficult to take pics because they are underneath the adjustment brackets.
Short of buying a new fence its the only way I had at the time to fix it .
Of course you could make a new fence all together.

I can visualise what you mean about the nut as i've got the bracket next to me. I think I will do the other three whilst i'm at it as they will probably fail at some point in the future

Yes that what I did ,so far so good over 18months now and they are still good , although it not some thing you adjust every day or time you use it.
