RTA-300 table question
Gday..have a RTA 300 Work table.
The measurements seem a little weird..Long story short can anyone tell me width of the standard sacrificial board on the fence.
Mine is 16 ml thick . is that right?..
.Bought it s/h so not sure if it's the original.
Cheers mick

No, not necessarily. You normally want to measure things from the outer edge of the router bit, not the centre. The scale is there to make relative adjustments, not absolute measurements. If you set the pointer at the zero mark on the scale I don't think that lines the fence up with anything in particular.

Hi,
The scale is set to use a half inch bit for planing, so zero is lined up with the cutting edge ie quarter of an inch over the center of the bit.Hope this makes sense and helps.

Hi,
Farther to my previous reply, it also means that if you have a bit with a half inch guide bearing it lines up with the fence when on zero.
