You haven't told or shown us yet why your router won't fit on the main base plate. Triton base plates used a number of different clamping systems over the years, and one of them should fit your router. What kind of clamps do you have?

I think he mentioned that he had the 4 clamp setup

    $89.00 x 2 (1/2" and 1/4") = $178, for another $100 you could probably buy a good S/H Triton router

all your troubles could be over

I dont think that plate would fit in the triton router top if thats the plan

I have no idea how to get it out without (most likely) doing damage! I've searched the interwebz this way and that, but can't find a solution to that specific issue. Any ideas?
Looking at your collet it looks like it's meant to be captive in the nut. Unfortunately the angle of the photo doesn't allow me to see the top of the collet properly so I'm guessing here.
Below are some photos of the collet assembly from my Bosch Router which has the captive collet. The collet locks into a groove in the nut when assembled. The collet is aluminium and looking at your photo it appears to be the same because of the damage around the top. With collets that have a long taper they need the nut to pull them out as they lock in fairly tightly. The 3rd photo is the collet from my Ryobi Trim Router which has a steep taper and just pops out when the nut is released. I use Graphite powder on my collets and threads as it make them release easily and doesn't attract dust.
If you get a longish 5mm screw (preferably longer than the sample in the photo) and bend a small section of the end over at 90° and cut the length of the bent section off so it just fits down in the hole you can use that as a slide hammer. Put the bent end in the hole until it passes the end of the collet. If you have a pair of pliers that have the rounded hole in the gripping section you could slide the pliers swiftly up the bolt so they hit the head creating a jarring action on the collet and after a few hits I believe it will come loose. It can't be too firmly in there as you have already got the bit out.

If the above doesn't work I'd be taking the chuck off the router. Do you have the manual with assembly diagram?
