Sad TR001
I have a relatively new TR001 and had it all set up with my new Leigh Superjig to start cutting dovetails for a set of drawers. I almost finished the first test joint when I accidently knocked it from the bench.
The result - not good!!!
It broke all of the height adjustment knob on the right hand side and the cap to hold the large spring in.
I rang C&L in Brisbane and the guy almost laughed and gave me the 1300 number for GMC and said no one has come back to them with feedback to say they were successful. The phone either doesn't answer, or goes to a voice mail that says voice mail box full.
So I have a useless TR001 router. Anyone need one for parts or have some parts that might repair this one?
Also any other recommendations on what to buy?
Thanks,
Russ

That is a bugga, Russ. I can't think of a worse sight than broken tools, and being so new must be very frustrating.

If your handle looks like this:
then I can help you as I have a complete one spare. I can't help with the spring-retaining cap, though - sorry. I know I'm a fair distance away (!), but I'll happily post it to you.

I hope you manage to repair your router Brisruss. If you don't though, I'd be interested in buying the 1/2" collet off you as mine got a little out of shape after being dropped and it's now a little difficult to get the bits in and out.
Does anyone else know where I'd be able to get the 1/2" collet off either the TRA or MOF routers? The part number for both is TRA013.
Cheers,
John

Do you want the whole (two-part) chuck assembly, or just the outer (female) part?
Ray.

Just the inner part that the bits slide into - the same part that you put your wrench on and turn. It's labeled as 78.2 in the spares diagram here... http://www.triton.com.au/documents/download.php?id=28

Hmm - thought crossed my mind that I have about 3 or 4 of these complete (both parts) seeing as I have upgraded the routers to the superior US Triton collet........

Not sell, but perhaps a swap? Got any interesting timbers (such as a pen blank, or a pen mechanism)?

Funny you should mention pens, I just turned my first ever pen this morning, on a lathe I bought on this forum - it's not going to win any awards, but I'm pretty chuffed with the results See the pic below.
I'd be happy to send you a couple of pen kits and blanks... I think I've gone a little overboard in ordering supplies anyhow! PM sent with my contact details.
Thanks heaps for your generous offer.
Cheers,
John

Update
Rayintheuk has come up with a replacement handle to adjust the depth setting. He is a great person to deal with and I can only recommend him highly. The parcel arrived in superquick time.
He also has some great instructions on how to replace it.
Now all i have to do is fix it.
Just goes to show the value of this forum.
Cheers,
Russ
