Default shop made triton extension table

    Hi all
I have a mK3 triton tablesaw and I like it a lot but would like it a whole lot more if I could cut about 500-700mm wider than the table allows.
Any plans for a shop made type extension table out there?
    Thanks
    Blinger

Default not what you asked ....... maybe worth a try

    Hello,

I have just picked up a Triton Mk 3 on ebay for $51

Maybe you could do the same ..... then mount teflon strips or UHMW tape on the tables of each one and have them side by side ..........

Would'nt be as as good as the sliding extension table.

Maybe having bought the 2nd triton for cheap you could somehow adapt the sliding mechanism on the 2nd one ? That might be worth investigating - use the saw sliding bracket in the rails to carry your sheets - would need some minor modifications to the saw bracket and perhaps some lubrication in the rails - will have a go myself.

My original plan was to have one set up for the router and one will stay as a table saw.

Have made a sled for cross cutting so I never have to convert back to cross cutting mode.

Don't have any plans or pics, but I did something for my 2000 for a few big cuts that might suit.

I used a large scrap of chipboard, but would prefer MDF for more permanent.

I would use a piece 1200 x 1800 with teh blade down below the table sit the board side ways over the table so that the sheet is hanging over the left. Rough picture attached to help explain.

once you have it set up start the saw and raise it up slowly through the new top. You now have a zero clearance top. You do loose some cutitng depth but working with large sheets this should not be an issue

Good solution and timely too. I need to rip 720 mm pieces and the WC2000 only gives you a 620 mm capacity .

Probably just age and weather catching up with me

Did a bit of Triton sawing and routing on HMR particle board to convert some old cupboards for use as a pantry. It's good to know that after 23 odd years, The Triton is still up to the job.
An extended table will be a big improvement.
