Default SJA001 Urethane Jaws replacements alternatives?

My Urethan Jaw pads on my SuperJaws Original model are starting to crumble.

I'm sure I made some replacements from bamboo years and years ago.

Anyone have any alternative Urethan suggestions they found work well?

    Thanks in advance

Two things that I know will work are hide leather and Cork/rubber (Crubber).

I have used both the line WW vices, Leather is more robust, but the Crubber has a bit more grip.

    I purchased a 1270x510 x2 mm sheet of Crubber for $34 last year - I just checked the price - it's now $56

With both leather and Crubber you can glue sheets together to get the thickness you need.

Re crubber- I bought rubberised cork from supercheap auto and glued it to my wooden vice jaws a few weeks back, so far so good. Platinum Rubberised Cork Sheet - CS006S | Supercheap Auto

    Many thanks Sam.

Can't tell the size on that ad.
Do you recall if it was just enough for the front and another for the back?
Did you have enough left over to make two layers for each?
    What glue did you use?

    Thanks again

It’s 375 x 400 x 1.6mm thick and there was a 3.2mm thick version too. I didn’t line super jaws, just my bench vice and there was plenty to do that. Used selleys contact adhesive because I had some. There’s quite a few blog posts about other ppl doing it you’ll find through google.
