sliding extension table
Can anyone comment on the usefulness and accuracy of the sliding extension table? I am considering buying and have never seen a review.
Thanks

Hi Kevan,
I used the Triton for many months before aquiring the extention table. I find the extension table well worth the money. With the extention table, I have graduated from decent sized projects to building 12' high book shelves and 6 meter octagon decks and being able to make those really ackward/cumbersom cuts.
Its very easy to set up and even easier to take down and store away. Great for those who don't have a dedicated work area.
With the Triton (not being cast iron) we have to maintenance the accuracy on a regular basis. Before each small project and multiple time during larger projects.
Although I don't like having to take on the responsability of maintaining the Tritons accuracy, I take 30 minutes on Friday evenings (sober) to vacuum, straghten up my shop, and test the Tritons accuracy, in preparation for any weekend woodwork.

Friday evenings, sober?
I have actually considered one of these for some of my more ambitious projects.
I cannot justify a top end sliding table unit.
Thanks for the advice Barry.
Incidentally, the big slider is actualy cheaper than the smaller one and there is a new one coming out soon apparently.Stupidity kills. Absolute stupidity kills absolutely.

Ohhhh, a new sliding extention table ?
Great!
I love mine and look forward to any improvements.
We just had our monthly Triton meeting - with no metion of it.
Mentioned the Triton Router at about $400. Plan to be out just before the WWW show - no later than Dec.
Just spoke to Triton -

I have made alot of things suitable for the older Triton, most ideas have come from catalogues from our local hardware shop ( Hyne's ) here in Maryborough, Queensland. Ideas such as extendable tables have been made at a fraction of the cost. Also different little things to help me use 12 assorted power tools namely Makita, just for the average handy home man, me. I have made some nice furniture with many mistakes getting there. How-ever, I have learnt. If the Triton sayss to use X attachment, I look at what it does and make it here either at home or at school, with the help of the boys in metalwork or woodwork.
I would also like to see a across Australia Triton club, for the average handy home worker, not the advanced type.
