    Default sorry, no matches

Doing a search for GMC on this or any forum returns no matches. Why would this be?

I just picked up a GMC pedestal drill (it was free!) so now there are two mentions

Well try searching for it - you won't find it via search.

Maybe 'GMC' is too short for the search facility.
If you type in "GMC drill" in quotes, you will get heaps of hits.

Strange, but maybe more than one of us has learned something.

I did a search using the advanced search set up as below and got 37 results. Always find the search difficult to use.

Just an update. Did exactly the same search a couple of times and sometimes get no matches, sometimes 37 and another time I got about 250. Beats me what changes.

A similar issue came up several years ago. It seems the software's search function can't handle "words" less than four letters long. As suggested, use a longer search string.

the search box on forums is usually pretty limited. google's search is pretty powerful.
if using google, use a string similar to this.

    site:woodworkforums.com gmc

the "site:woodworkforums.com" will limit the search results to only this domain name.

the "gmc" is just the search query
