Straight edge
Hi
I have just bought a Triton Table and the video says that you must make sure that your wood edge is straight 90%.
1. How do you cut a straight edge when your opposite side (parallel ) is not straight. Do you draw a line on the wood and try cut along the line to get a perfect 90 % and then you can place that edge on the fence so you can cut a perfect 90 % on the opposite site.
I hope you can understand my question
Thanks
I so happy with my Triton and hope I make the best use of it.

Vaughan,
I assume you do not have access to a jointer/surface planer. If this is the case, then you can use another piece of timber that is straight (obtain a piece and keep it - usually a piece of MDF will suffice). Attach this to the crooked timber using double sided tape and insert a flush trim bit (with bearing) into the router and run the edge of the timber past the flush trim bit with the bearing running along the edge of the straight timber. This should produce a well finished straight edge. And so you can also straighten the other side as well. A tip if you do not have a saw to cut 90deg exactly, a corner piece of MDF is usually square. Keep a cut off and this can be used to square up timber using the same method as above. You do however need the flush trim bit with a bearing. Rember that when the router is in the table, to run the timber from right to left (Do not use a climb cut as this is dangerous).
Hope this helps.
