    Default Table Saw Dust Extraction

Having just had a new concrete floor put down in the workshop I thought I'd take the opportunity to bury a 4" pipe and put an outlet directly under the workcentre. Seemed like a good idea at the time but then I got to thinking...

How or what do I need to fabricate to join the 4" outlet to the underside of the workcentre to catch the dust????

    Any thoughts???

Saw a similar setup - but not buried in the floor.

Fabricate up a box with a hole in the bottom to sit over your floor pipe - and a hole in the top the same diameter (or slightly larger) as the ring in the workcentre dustbag top piece (the bit that the lower bag section hangs on to). I think the problem they encountered was the high suction was causing the bag to suck in - this was overcome by controlling the suction flow, and drilling a few extra hole in the workcentre centre track, to increase air flow.

I think they may have even had a slide up hatch on one side of this floor box, so they could sweep up the stray sawdust - straight into the hatch. Not sure on that point - but worth giving it a go. What about plumbing in the hose from the dust guard - again, into the box?

    Good luck

Andrew, Just posted some pics of a project my brother and I have been working on to solve the same problem. Check out my thread Workcentre Dust Extraction

It might give you a few ideas.

Thanks Stephen, great pictures and it looks like it would work extremely well.

    Food for thought!
