Default Taller feet for Work Centre?

    Hi

What a great forum! Wish I knew about it long ago. But I digress...

In the area where my Mk3 Work Centre stands, heavy rain very occasionally causes water to run over the floor (probably only a few mm deep). I wasn't aware of any ill effects until I recently noticed that the bottoms of the legs of the work centre stand and extension table are quite rusted inside (I guess the tight-fitting plastic caps/feet retain water).

As I would prefer a higher working surface anyway, I'd like to fit taller plastic feet (after properly treating the rusted areas).

Can anyone suggest a source of elevated caps/feet to fit in the 30mm tube legs?

Else I guess I could turn down some 32mm plastic rod - maybe the round-in-square gaps would be better at letting water out if it ever got up that high?

    All suggestions welcome.

I would cut some timber extensions (on the Triton of course ) and fit it inside the existing tubelar legs and secure it with a nut and bolt and add some rubber caps available from Clarkes Rubber.

Why don't you just fit the wheel kits to all four legs. Wheels are plastic

I like sturdee's idea but have you considered a stand to replace the legs. saw one in a guys shed (at a garage sale) and it looked like had some advantages ie storage, castors, wider stance. You could add some wind down levelers.
    Cheers Tip hunter

I would rather roll than reinvent the wheel
