Thread: Another TRA001 problem

Might sound silly, but try dropping the router down to the very bottom, and then raise it up. It somehow re-sets the mechanism. I won't mention that the switch has to be off.

I've had this happen with a (now deceased...) Triton MOF-001 in the past. Problem was something like what Uncle Al describes above - I had the router wired through an external push button ON/OFF switch mounted at convenient height on the side of my router table, so the switch on the side of the router body was always ON and power was controlled by the external switch. If I forgot to turn the router body switch OFF as well as the external switch (and power at the wall socket), it won't raise all the way up. In some cases, the sliding clear plastic shroud over the router ON/OFF switch can stick and cause this problem - I think the limiter on raised height is actually a mechanical interlock with this sliding shroud?

Now you mention it I vaguely remember a similar problem when I first put the router in the table.

Hi Old Biker,

I think you might find that is your problem. I have an external power switch on my home made router table also. But I still turn the switch on/off on the router itself. When ready to rout, turn switch on, then turn the external switch on. Very safe, hands out of the way. And if that switch on the router is left on, it wont raise up all the way.
