    Default TRA001 question

    Hi
I'm getting used to this router and starting to appreciate its features

one in particular is the wind down/plunge operation from the side handle
this really works for me as I find I can operate the router with arms more extended than with my old makita

I'm thinking this is an excellent feature but I have'nt seen it on other routers, have triton got a patent on it perhaps?

interested to know more about this

    cheers

Yes I agree with the convenience of that knob and the fine adjustment associated with it and wondered why none of the known brands hadn't built that into their designs. You can still free plunge like all routers if you want but also have the feature if you want to use it.

Pretty sure any patent they had 20+ years ago will have expired by now, but you are right; no-one else has adopted the technology. I like them so much I have two of them!

CMT also sell the TRA001 under their own badge.

    Thanks guys

I was thinking along the lines of a second router, thats why I'm wondering if other makes have the same feature, I guess not

I couldn't go back to the regular plunge arrangement , even tho there's some excellent brands out there

    so who sells cmt routers?

    cheers

Have a look at The Triton 1400W Router - A Comparative Review - which shows the MOF001, with a link to the JOF001 at the bottom. Hope you find what you're after.
