    Default triton 1400w problem

have searched through the forum but cant find anyone else
was using the router in hand just changed bit reset depth and width of routing started to rout 10-15 seconds into run get hit in the face by the plunge spring access cap and the spring no damage to me or the work slight dampness in pants though .
after turning off inspected router and looked for bits found spring and cap nothing else.
should there be anything ? I will need a new cap as this one has lost all bar one of the tags that hold it in place else .
the router still going no problems but was wondering if I am the only lucky bggr to get shot by their router
Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything, but they
bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs .

The quick-release plunge spring is a bayonet (twist) fit into the upper router body. When closed, it MUST be secured by the cross-head screw provided for the purpose.

It is all too easy to replace the cap and forget to tighten the screw back up, or in an extremely unlikely case, the screw may have vibrated loose if not correctly tightened on refitting the cap.

I hope it now becomes a regular check item for you - see page 13 of the manual.

thanks ray and andrew for the info.
screw must have vibrated itself out as havent had this one apart and less than 1 hours use. only recently taken out of the box (have a couple i picked up cheap from bunnies when they got rid of triton stock )
