Finally saw the baby Triton in Bunnies today.

It looks as well made as its big brother but it does semm to be quite a heavy beastie for a hand held router.

Anybody used one hand held for any length of time yet?

Can Triton send one to Dean so he can do a review for us

I've spent a fair bit of time with it hand held now (mainly trenching mdf with a 16mm plunge bit) and it's pretty good. It is a bit heavy but I think sometimes a bit of extra weight is an advantage for resisting it kicking back. It wouldn't want to be too much heavier though. It's very stable and quite easy to get good repeatable cuts.

The biggest whing about using it hand held is it's quite difficult to see the cutter. Especially when the clear acrylic guard gets a bit of dust clinging to it from static (I'm using dust extraction). I might have to remove the guard and see how that goes. It is a bit of a pain though.

    Thanks Dale.

I'm in the market for a new hand-hekd touter at the mo but I'm just not sure if the baby Triton is the one for me though. I have the big Triton in a table and that's great for table work.

I'm kind of thinking I'd prefer something a bit lighter for hand-held.

Now if I were rich, I'd buy the Festool.
