Triton 2000 - leg locking problems
Hi to all Orange Folks out there
I would be interested to know if others are having the same problem as me -
I have had a 2000 series work centre for almost 2 years - recently 2 of the spring loaded locks on the 2 front legs failed on seperate occasions - ie the ball in the lock mechanism disappeared (read - shot through to where ever)leaving a lonely and useless spring.
Now I have noticed the same thing has happened to our unit at work which is used on site.
I have contacted Triton to get 4 new lock mechanisms but I would be interested to hear from others and figure out how common this annoying little problem is.
If it happens again I shall simply drill and bolt the legs as I never fold them away.
Thanks folks

Wallace,
had the same problem when my W2000 was being assembled. Got a new pin from the retailer and have not had a problem since. I managed to salvage the old one by tapping a dent in the pin thus not allowing the ball to escape again. I keep this a a spare.
Regards
Les

Hi Wallace,
I move mine around the shed regularly (on wheels) and have never had this problem. I haven't heard mentioned in the Triton Club either so I'd say it's fairly isolated. If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

Hasn't happened to mine either - yet. Keeps fingers crossed. Problems with Triton gear seems to come in batches, like the improperly applied arm markings.
I have been thinking of making a roll around cupboard/stand for my Triton & taking off the legs altogether & just using the holes to bolt it to the table top.

I brought my workcentre only last year and have given it minimal use. One of the pins failed very early - Triton sent a replacement quickly via mail. The person there did say that they had some problems with "a batch" of pins.
And I got the scales that rub off the arms easily as well...
Triton have sent another pair - but they are just as bad. So I'll be applying some clear varnish...
