Default UPDATE - Triton Mitre Saw -where to get spares

My Triton 250mm Compound Mitre Saw suddenly stopped while cutting a 10cm log.
Having been a carpenter/joiner for 100 years, electrical motors are like a foreign language to me.

Hoping to get some advice from you guys

UPDATE Looks like I need a new set of brushes..
Any suggestions as to where I get them.

    Cheers

Really surprised by the lack of replies.

    All sorted now.

Col, you could try contacting Carbatec as they are an agent for Triton.

    Yes, have already contacted Carbatec.
Manger had never heard of that model, but would call me back.

Surprise, surprise, called back in 1 hour & said that Triton sold ALL that model to "cheaptoolsau" who have sold them on EBay.
Have tried to contact "cheaptoolsau" without success.
That model is sold in the USA as a 12 inch .

    Looks like it I'm stuffed.

If you call some motor rewinders, most can make carbon brushes to suit anything. They will need the old brush and maybe a depth measurement inside the brush holder to the armature.

Yes I was going to suggest the small motor rewinders as well.
If you don't have any luck there (which I would be surprised if you don't), you could try here. They don't show your saw, but there is a contact button at the bottom left to ask about other spares.
Is this the contact information you have for Cheap Tools?

    Default Update

    Well, finally sorted.

Went to the local "Workforce Power Tools & Batteries" in Mandurah WA.

    Found some over-sized brushes.
With the help of a machine-minded mate, Tahnks Mick, we ground them on the bench grinder to fit & hey-presto....it works.

Although a retired carpenter/joiner with years of working with power tools, this is the first time I have ever replaced a set of brushes. I must get out more.

    Thanks for all the advice
