1 router left at $99
I've now got 1 router left from the 5 I managed to purchase for forumites.
So far, routers have been purchased by:
Milar
RodP
Mog4 (waiting for confirmation)
Big Shed
Postage is not expensive. For around $19 I can post it using Registered Post (thanks to Big Shed for investigating the postal option).
My criteria - you must be a forum member, and you promise not to flog it on eBay - it's for your personal use, not for profit. PM me if you're interested.
SWMBO thinks I've lost my marbles, but I've got a lot of pleasure from this forum and it's good to be able to help out some other forumites with a great deal like this.
Allan
EDIT: Sorry, all taken now. Cliff Rogers has claimed the last one.Last edited by ajw; 26th May 2008 at 09:10 PM. Reason: All Sold

Just recently I have benefited from these heads-up posts quite a bit. I managed to get a Triton router yesterday and today my missus called from Aldi and said she had picked up the shop vac and the caliper (heard me talking yesterday apparently). I am one happy camper and need to thank those who notice these items and take the time to tell others. Also those who purchase-and-ship for others, good on you all, thank you.

Allan, I would like to express publicly my thanks for doing this, it is great to see people doing things for other people they don't even know. It is things like this that make the forum the great meeting place it is.
Tell SWMBO that you may have lost your marbles, but you have gained the respect and admiration of at least 4 forum members.
Thanks mate, great gesture, greenie on the way.

Yup.... good isn't it.
I had Damian looking out for one in Brissy for me but he only managed to score one for himself.
If anybody else spots one at that price, I'll have another one if Batpig doesn't want it first 'cos he is still waiting for one.Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.

Has anyone seen these or any other Triton stuff discounted at any of the WA stores? Are they variable speed and 1/2 inch collet?

Can't answer your first question, but the answers to your second question is in this review by Bill Esposito.
Be aware, that some of the accessories supplied with the US model reviewed there are extras here in Oz. FWW also has done a test on this router and it was their top pick out of quite a few models.

The aldi caliper is a good thing. Scored one yesterday while I was buying pasta (organic $1.57 packet). Works a treat and as accurate as any on the market. The cheapest ones on ebay are $21 delivered so $20 is a really good price...

I would also like to echo BigShed's thoughts

It is truely great to be invovled with a bunch who go out of their way to help, guide or just be there. It is a rarity in todays society.

Mighty thoughtful of you Cliff to remember the "Unfortunate..."
If one doesn't come up, I'll soldier on with the R1200 until I can have a look at that proposed Triton Portable Powered Router Table that Stu had a picture of at his Web-Shed (until he felt a constriction around his throat when the "Forces Of Darkness" nicely asked him to take it, and the other pictures, down). Anyway, some of you might have noticed at the time that the thing had an adjustment wheel on the side. Needless to say, it wasn't there to play music if you turned it . Only thing is, it would obviously need to be shipped with some extension tables. We'll see what comes of it...
But I'm still up for an MOF001 if one shows up! Whoever finds them, just go with your heart on who you want to send them to. They all sound like good blokes. Allan is a selfless champ, that's for sure...
Best Wishes,
Batpig.
