No more Triton Orders
I recently tried to get my hands on a 3.6V Screwdriver.
So I sent an email to a Triton Preferred supplier. I got a response saying no sorry - Triton and GMC are being sold. They are not answering or returning phone calls so I can't place any order for anything.
So that's it is?

Best service yet!
I was chasing a part last Thursday, last week and got an answer to my email back from Triton in 70 minutes. Definitely still open for business.
Most other businesses I deal with are doing well to get a return email back in 24 hours.
I think you should try another retailer.

Overheard at Bunnings Cranbourne that due to the GMC move not complete, with production not started yet, that is why there is little Triton stock on the shelves. - As with anything advice from Bunnings, taken with a grain of salt.

Eagle, if you're connected with GMC-Triton, would you please light a fire under your spares department head for me?
I ordered a Triton bandsaw on September 18 (two and a half months ago!) and when I finally received it (directly from the warehouse) on October 7, the fence and one of the door catches were broken and parts of them were lying in the bottom of the box.
I reported the damage to the shop where I bought the saw who in turn reported the problem to GMC-Triton. Several reminders later, an unannounced TNT driver turned up on November 13 with a docket to collect "something" from me. I gave him the broken fence and door catch and am still awaiting the replacements.
Maybe GMC-Triton are still trading, but you can certainly understand why people might think otherwise.
If you're not connected with GMC-Triton, then....
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.
Regards, Woodwould.

Woodwould, Eagle works for GMC Triton, but it is either a different GMC Triton to that with which we deal, or it is the same company in a different universe.

I have some parts on order (2 months wait) and the story I was told was that they are having trouble getting parts because the factories in China are going broke and closing down because of the world recession.

Eagle, thanks for responding to my post.
Firstly, I'm a big fan of many of Triton;s products - I love the Powertools and try to have a 'standard'. My machines are Jet. But most other things are Triton.
The retailer I referred to is a very reliable one - whom many deal with on this forum. He absolutely no reason to tell me something he didn't perceive to be true. I either buy Triton from him or I go elsewhere - so he looses a sale.
Regardless of whether the retailer or the end customer has the right or the wrong of the situation. Another sale goes to a competitor. I'm not sure what the answer is - other than offering the products in your own online store - to which I understand that not the company model - but the original model doesn't seem to be getting a lot of traction.
As another example - I've just purchased a PWS router table top, incra set up and phenlatic insert - I've put a TRA001 underneath. Fantastic setup. I've built the cabinet myself (bit rough) to complete my dust collection system I looked up the appropriate part numbers on the website and went to my local Bunnings to put in a special order for some 38mm hoses and some connectors - well you'd have thought I'd just walked up told them I had keyed their car.
Despite giving the correct order numbers - It took over a week to get a response. Despite me hanging around whilst they called.
Please note that they are my perceptions alone.
i am eagerly awaiting a:
- Triton 12" SCMS
- Biscuit Jointer
- new 235CSL
- Planer
- Belt sander....
- The death of the WC2000
Best regards

The reason I asked is if he is giving this information to you - how many other end users are getting this incorrect information. Also he is as you say a Triton Preffered Dealer, with this comes advantages to the retailer....eg better pricing, website advertising and call centre customer direction.
I dont want to send anymore customers to this "triton preffered dealer" and see more end users unsatisfied and frustrated. I will also take him off the Triton website....Send me a PM and I will go and see him to clear this up.
Thanks,Eagle

Eagle, you are delusional.
I don't know how senior is your position in GMC/Triton, but if your attitude is typical of the rest of the company, it is no wonder that the company appears to have lost the plot.
Your post-sale customer service SUCKS. The representation of your products by stores SUCKS. You see it here time and time again, yet you nothing but deny.
Here are enthusiasts who have bought your products, who usually love your products, giving you invaluable advice and feedback. You'd pay a consulting company hundreds of thousands of dollars to get advice of this quality. Yet you (or your employer) put your head in the sand and pretend everything is fine.
It is really sad to see Triton screwed up so badly, when the remedies are right in front of your nose.... as long as the government is perceived as working for the benefit of children, the people will happily endure almost any curtailment of liberty and almost any deprivation. (A.Hitler)

And when are we going to see stocks of that bloody wet grinder? My local tool shop is getting sick of ringing to see if there are any in stock. He was told first week of November about 6 weeks ago, last time he rang it was "no ETA available".

Eagle try calling your own company's 1300 number and then come back and tell us that people are answering the phone and that GMC is doing a great job. In case you do actually get through to someone, try to order something and join the queue waiting for triton accessories or GMC spares. Your company is the one I dread dealing with the most.

I never said our service was the greatest, I have always been concerned about solving problems so the end user gets back using the tools. I acknowledge we have problems with our customer service and we are trying our best to fix it. It is a work in progress as always. I disagree that we dont take the advice on board - if we didnt we wouldnt be on here would we?
things will change moving forward, time will tell I guess.
Happy to answer any queries via PM - always here to help.
thanks,Eagle
