    Default Triton Parts

    Hello all,

New to this forum and fairly new to woodwork, unfortunately I'm also new to Triton - my timing couldn't have been worse!

I'm not sure if this is the correct location on this forum to post requests for parts but here goes. I'm looking for some parts to resurect a MK3 (New series) workbench. Having searched high and low for a Series 2000 without success I have purchased a cheap MK3 but it is missing the protractor, fences, the "emergency stop" flap thingo that covers the power switch and one of the plastic T handles for cross cut height adjustment is broken (hey it was really cheap!). Anyway I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can get my hands on any of these parts? Yep I know they've been out of production for a long time but someone might know of some (new or old) sitting around doing nothing!

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Richard.

    .
Kind of tough on you having bought in when Triton is in receivership. Also if Triton was still operating you might have difficulties as they are no longer making spare parts for the MK3 and were only selling of existing stock.

You can make it functional as follows :

Plastic T handles - you can make your own knobs or use a wingnut. Also similar type of knobs can always be picked up from items thrown out at hard rubbish collections.

Fence -The Triton fence for the Mk3 is only a aluminium U shaped channel with 2 openings cut into it to fix top the table top with a T shape bolt and T shape handle. Easy enought to make using aluminium angle . The measuring tape might be out but with careful cutting of the openings you could make it accurate enough.

Emergency stop flap. You could fashion something for that using some plastic or ply or buy another switch unit to replace it. A good electrical store should be able to help you get another.

Protractor. Unless perfect accuracy is required (in regards to specific angles) you could make one yourself. Cut an accurate triangle out of say 40mm thick chipboard, and cut a plastic guide strip to run in the channel. Fix it to your triangle with bolts and wingnuts and glue sandpaper to the faces of the edges of the new protractor.

Good luck and show us some photos when you have made them.

    Default Triton Owners Club

    Hi Woody Wood,
I'm a member of the Triton Owners Club in Adelaide. I know they have a Mk3 going for sale cheaply. It may be more than you need but if the price was low enough, it may be the way to go.
This club meets in Salisbury and is really worth being involved. I have Triton stuff and have learnt much from the other members. You may even find some who have the parts you need.
There is also a group who meets in southern Adelaide.
PM me and I'll try and get some phone numbers to you.
    Cheers
    Vicki

Thanks everyone for your responses. I've opted for a series 2000 which I managed to locate second hand at a very reasonable price! Now the hunt is on for its missing protractor!

Just got off the phone to Mitre 10 Ingle Farm, and alas, no longer. The 2000 Workcentre sold three days ago.
    Bugger.

Looking for one myself. Guess I'm left to ebay.
