Triton Bandsaw
Hello everyone,
Has this happened to you ? If so why? and what do I do to rectify the problem?
I was using my Triton (TRBS08) band saw last night and bang !!! "what the.... has happened" the upper blade wheel had broken into 2 pieces and of course rendered the machine useless.
As I only use it to cut 6mm ply/mdf for templates I thougt this size bandsaw would be sufficient for me ,and I still do BUT! I can't use it as it is ...............
1. where do I get a 200mm blade wheel from to fit the Triton ?
2. when I do get one , what do I to prevent this happening again.?
Thanking you in advance
Brian

You can try Ghebrial Powertools on 93576168. I know they have parts for GMC and Triton.
Good luck

Sorry to being a bit slow to reply ,having used this machine in Triton demos I think that the reason for this wheel to break would be over tensionig it , regards replacement the Shepach is identical Triton is simply badge engineered so I would try Hare and Forbes again but don't quote Triton say it's a Shepach.Best of luck

Triton Bandsaw
I have been able to purchase the bottom band saw wheel from Bairnsdale Electrics, and when Uncle Tommy comes back from holidays ( Uncle Tom is a toolmaker/ engineer and real helpful) is going to drill out the centre for me replace the bearing and AWAY we go. (hopefully).
So fingers crossed that all goes well.

I think it worked out at about $10 plus postage but brought some other gear at the same time,

Should be able to get carbon blades made to order at any convenient saw doctor. I use Specialty Saws in Coolstore Road Croydon, but there are plenty of docs around, so you should be able to find one near you. Costs about $15 for Triton 12 and $13 for Triton 8. Just tell the doc what you want to use the blade for and the total length from the manual, they will reccommend a width and tooth pitch and give you a price. Because they do a fair bit of commercial/industrial work they generally only use quality Euro or American stock, much better than the prepacked stuff in Bunnings etc, and generally cheaper as well.
