Cool Triton are BACK - Biggest Triton Survey EVER

UPDATE: Power tool surveys now added due to popular demand!

Triton have again returned to Australian (and international) stores! Supply is limited, as is the product range, but that is set to grow, and quick.

The first 100 or so units (Workcentre) supplied hardly managed to make it to the store shelves before they were walking out the door again. I am getting from the manufacturer a list of stores initially being supplied. Bunnings will not be making the list.

The range is very limited as production is scaled up, so you have a unique opportunity to influence what are the next products bought back online.
I have created a special page here with surveys attached.

They ask what are the products you most want to see, and least want to see make a return. I am not covering power tools in this survey - I will do that shortly. Information from these surveys will be provided directly to the manufacturer, and they requested it of me (through Stu's Shed). Repeating the info here, because I thought there might be one or two on these forums interested in influencing Triton manufacturing decisions.

You'll be happy to hear that in a conversation late last week when possibility of the extension table came up, I made it very well known that the extension tables were the highest rated of all the Triton accessories, and they are a MUST!

How about spare parts ? I'm still wanting some spare brushes for the TRA001 and the MOF001 ,Routers and a couple of reducing collets for same.
Tried Eagle for these spares but he never bothered to reply both times.

Will see if I can find out more about OS distribution, but haven't heard about local yet either

Definitely can't speak for Eagle - I've been waiting for his spares to become available too (wanting to stock up on essentials in case future supply lines disappear forever (will we ever fully trust again?)

In another recent thread we got to see the reducer that Gifkins sells (for $14) - very superior - get those instead. (Gifkins has a vested interest in getting them right because he has a few bits in his kit that are 1/4" solid carbide) Make sure you get the one JillB got (this is her picture from the other thread)

The reducer pictured on Gifkins website is the old style (like the carbatec one seen here, but with a lip like the Gifkins pictured here) so the style pictured here is significantly superior.

That is a point that I mentioned to DCI as well. It will be interesting to see their marketing campaign (and if they choose to do one)

I'm a bit stumped why they need to do a survey, surely sales records will tell them what works

It was a classic 2 weeks ago - you could have gotten $1k for it then, but it's back to normal value now

The new manufacturers are the ones requesting the survey - they want to know directly from you, the customers, what you want, not what can be surmised from old sales documents, which would only reflect historic purchasing trends and not the opinions of those who already own, have experienced and understand the product.

Who better to have an opinion on what products should, and shouldn't be made, or those that need improvement - existing owners, yet to be owners of a particular tool or accessory (aka sales data), or those specifically interested in profit margins and running a business?

I'd say existing owners are the best - only we know from hindsight that something like the Superjaws is a great tool, and the planer attachment needs major rework, and the workcentre NEEDS a normal mitre track. I had plenty of Triton gear before I bought a Superjaws, and only then did I discover what an awesome bit of kit it was.

A new (yet to be) owner doesn't have these insights.
