Default Triton Biscuit Joiner - was the diff BJA001 & BJA300

    Hey all,
been thinking about getting a buscuit joiner and since I have a WorkCentre 2000 and a router table (RTA300), I thought about a Trition one.

However I have noted there seems to be two different types available around:
    BJA001 & BJA300

Can a Triton expert out there tell me which one I should get(if I can)?

Or is it not worth paying $100+ when I can get a Carbotec hand held for $150.

    Thanks in advance.

You'd need the BJA300 for a WC2000. The BJA001 is the earlier model, for earlier Workcentres.

The BJA300 is OK if you only want to do slots at 90 or 45 degrees and either only want to use Triton's own biscuits (non-standard size) or standard size #20 only.

If you want to do angles other than those above, or if you want to use standard size #0 and #10 biscuits (and be able to take the jointer to the workpiece e.g., kitchen counter tops, etc.), then it's not for you.

TBH, having tried and demoed it for several years, I still reach for my hand-held rather than set up the BJA300. HTH

Thanks heaps for the advice Ray.

I tending towards the Triton option but you have convinced me to go with the hand held option, most likley the Archer or maybe the Festool Domino.

    Off to do some research.

    Thanks again

Thanks Eagle but I've decided to go with either a hand held version.

I found it here on eBay

None of the promised Triton though - only a couple of cable locks
