Triton Club members
Many of us have fond memories of belonging to a Triton Owners Club and for many years these very unique clubs provided friendship and fellowship which was the envy of many who could not access a club nearby. I am sure I could write pages on what the clubs did for us all as users and for Triton as a conduit for comment and review but on a strictly personal note its the long list of good friends I made and interesting people I met from going club to club that I really appreciate.
A few clubs still exist in one form or another and quite a few went on to become thriving Mens Sheds. We reently needed a premises to run staff training in Sydney and we used the premises of the Hills District Mens Shed (formerly Triton Club) and their premises were staggering....and the welcome typical of the people involved.
I doubt if the times are right to re-kindle the Triton club movement but I am interested in finding out what clubs were formed from the Triton Clubs and what clubs any members moved onto.
My interest varies between wanting to know what has happened and what clubs members might have moved onto, and attending (being invited to) clubs to present the new Triton and giving an insight to the future.
Kincrome are making great headway in re-establishing a distribution network and to do that we are out pounding the beat all round the country. While we are doing that we would love to come and visit your club.
So if I can kindle some interest please let me know.
Best regards

Triton Owners Club Northern Districts (S.A.) Inc now the Woodworkers Shed Northern Districts (S.A.) Inc.
This Club is now in it's twelfth year. Many of our members still have Triton equipment but we wanted to open our membership further. So a few months ago we changed the name and joined the Men's Shed Association.
If anyone in Adelaide is interested, just send me a PM and I will send you the details.
Cheers
Vicki

I have never been a member of a Triton club but I feel that I should mention that I have recently regained a love of using my old Mk3 Triton simply because ...... wait for it.....
I have added a featherboard...
...and a home made one at that!
What has really made this work so well is that I use a couple of magswitches to very quickly secure the featherboard to the table. The speed of doing that means that my ancient Triton with its ancient screaming Ryobi saw still does the job for me when I need to rip something. (A 12" Makita SCMS does my cross cuts these days.)
The featherboard makes every operation safer, quicker, more accurate and a lot easier to use push sticks with. Shoulda done it long before now.
I reckon that there will be a lot of life left in a lot of old Tritons sitting under people houses unused. My 91 year old ex boss has one that will never get used again by he or his family. I imagine that these old Tritons could well find their way to new use through Triton user groups.

You did??
As a member of the Hills Men's Shed i somehow missed this entirely. I never new that the Shed that I have been part of since its inception some 3 years ago was formerly a Triton club. We do have a MK3 Triton that was donated to us. It is not in very good condition and rarely gets used. Whilst the building is adequate I cannot see it as staggering. It was a derelict scout hall that we re roofed, re built and re painted.____________________________________________________________

Shame that the only place that the Triton clubs appear on is this website I would have thought that they would have at-least a Facebook page lol
When my health improves in the next few months I will look at joining
Regards,
Kat.
