I need THIS TOOL

Can you tell me what THIS TOOL is for?

I have the 1/4inch one. I cannot recall seeing them used in the vids on YouTube.

Oh geez also found THIS TOOL, (cutter surround) is it required?

I would really like to have a go at this, dare I say, "fingering" lols. Can you use a shaped cutter and dove tail a corner? I realize you would have to work out a centre distance for it to work proper.

Bob, the Triton club of Canberra has all the manuals on line, including the finger jointer as per this link.


If you don't get details of the other tool from here maybe an email to them might help.

Bob, I'm the secretary of the Canberra Triton club, so I'm already on your case!
The first 'tool' you ask about is a finger for spacing either 1/4' or 1/2" joints, one for each size.
The cutter surround is required and explained in the manual.
I'm not sure about your dovetail question - this is not a dovetail jig - it makes box (finger) joints.
I don't have one of these gizmos, so I'll let anyone who does guide you further -but study the manual.

Yeh I know its for box fingers. Just thought with the use of a different bit you could trick it up.

I honestly havent had time to look at all the gear I bought. I am out of work so am doing some craft work in the shed to pass my "unemployement" time.

I had a guy contact me on Facebook, had some old doors to get rid of.

I bought a finisher the other day, so I had those suckers apart and into it. 8) Wetern Red Cedar I was told, but I aint got a clue. lols

The finisher is just the cheapo 909 from Masters but does an awesome job.

The manual will answer all your questions. It can not be made to do dove tails. If you want to do dove tails on any of the Triton router tables, your best bet is the Gifkin set up. One thing to make sure you use 1/4" or 1/2" bits NOT 6mm or 12mm, you can not adjust out the difference.

The distributor of Triton in Australia is Kincrome, headquarters in Melbourne.
Carbatec carry some spares, but only common ones. You can however ask them to order some - they have a 1300 order number.
Just Tools in South Melbourne is also a Triton seller - I saw some parts when I was there a week ago, but don't know how many they have, or whether they will order them.
If the parts are small and have to come from the UK you may as well order them yourself from Toolsparesonline - link in earlier posting. they come through pretty quickly - no VAT, and postage is reasonable for lighter, smaller items.
