Eagle Triton eye - Thanks mate
Thanks your inside information has been great. I hope you stick around a bit and keep a watching brief on the new Triton company
It sounds as though the new company is a holding company and that they intend to to divide up the carcus. By transferring to ownership to a holding company they can move out out of receivership and trade whilst they finalize the agreement and are put it all into place.
In the meantime I am pleased that Bunnings is having a stock run out sale. You can negotiate well below their buy price for the remaining stock. Just bought a Finger Joiner, Multi-Stand and Jigsaw kit for half of the list price.
I look forward to Triton being resurrected and hope the keep the brand name and Australian connection.
Any idea who the consortium is made up from? Is Bosh one of them?

Thanks Eagle. I'm sure you'll do OK in what ever you decide on next.
.
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.
Regards, Woodwould.

Thanks Eagle. So anyone looking for a workcentre MK2 - there is one at Bunnings Nth Parramatta marked down from 499 to 399. Sounds as though you might get a warranty with it now. Other Triton consumables also marked down.

If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."

Not good news for you though, Eagle. Although there is a saying that as one door closes, another one opens. I sincerely hope (and expect :) that that will be the case for you!
All the very best for the future and thanks for keeping us all in the loop through what must have been a very dispiriting time.
Cheers,
AlexN.

Lets hope these new investors (who I am sure will bring a wealth of experience from within the power tool industry) can keep the the brand alive. Surely if they had any trouble running similar companies...they wouldn't be allowed to do more damage to GMC/Triton. I'm sure its all good..
Who are they anyway?? It really is a small industry here in Australia...maybe we would know them??? These are the big questions!
Regardless of the end result Eagle...all the best to you...its been fun 'exchanging blows'.
Keep in touch...we have all enjoyed your insite and constant positive attitude towards the brands you represent (despite the actual goings on).

Thanks for sticking around Eagle. One would hope that loyalty and perseverance means something in the new market economy post Global Financial Crisis. But I doubt it.
Good fortunate and karma because you did not deserve the whacks some of the guys here gave you. It is called "shoot the messenger" syndrome.
All the best.
