    Smile Triton Jig/Scroll Saw

Hello all, I have just become the owner of the new Triton Scrolling Pendulum Jig saw. I was wonder if any one knows if the Jigsaw is compatible with the Jigsaw kit.

    Default Yes, with caveats

    Yes, it is, However!!

Set it in the "Smooth" ie non pendulum, non scrolling setting.

    Otherwise fine.

Lucky bugger- I'm still waiting (until Monday) for them to be stocked in Melbourne Metro stores.........

Given the versatility and functions on the Triton Jigsaw, as I have said in another thread, you may be better off mounting a cheap jigsaw in the table, and keeping the Triton for handheld work, where you can utilise the swivel head, pendulum etc. (GMC have one out for about $30 that I am eyeing as a possible second, permanently mounted jigsaw).

You and your expensive tools I have an XU1 mounted in mine Cost $19.95 . If I drop it, it's not worth bending down to pick it up. The trip to the Ostoepath would cost me more
If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

The cheap ones most likely do not have a tilting base? I was forced to use liquid metal on my jigsaw base to prevent it from cheesing in the router table.

My XU1 angle grinder just blew my mains circuit breaker. Anyone want one?

(I also have a Dewalt- I just got sick of changing between the metal cutter and my Arbortech woodcarver blade)

Just got my Triton Jigsaw from Bunnies- they finally came in.

I know I had seen/held it before, but it didn't register at the time what a beast it is!

Bunnies Frankston had the jigsaw, spin saw, 2x routers (1400W & 2400W), accessory kit for the 1400W, 2x circular saws, rotary tool, ROS, drill & metal cutter. They didn't seem to have the screwdriver (yet).

Finally got to get rid of some of those Xmas bunnies vouchers. Unfortunately I couldn't afford the lot like the lucky bugger Eagle.

The Screwdriver will only be going into those stores that want it. Bunnings have graded it as optional status so the stores do not have to order if they do not want to. The stores can order though, their fineline number is 630 0004.

Thanks Eagle- that makes sense why I couldn't find it.
(Well not for Bunnings grading it as such- stupid).

I'll find a Bunnings that is stocking it, or order one in.
Not sure why they are more expensive than the Bosch, seeing as they are pretty much an identical item from what I can gather.

Oh- funny aside. One Bunnings store tried to convince me that the Triton cordless drill was the Triton cordless screwdriver. He got quite peeved when I refused to believe him.

No probs. BTW, need a list of 2006 monthy activities for the website......
Will write a review of the jigsaw for our website over the next week or so, and will also upload articles that I wrote for previous issues of House and Home. Discovered recently that I had forgotten to do it.

For anyone interested, the new House and Home annual should be out around mid Jan, and I'm hoping that there will be about 6 articles of mine on Triton related subjects in it.

Thanks for the advice, a second cheap jigsaw for the table seems to be the way to go.
