    Exclamation Triton mk3 questions

First up, if i want to buy a triton 235mm saw from bunnings how soon should i buy it? is it the best saw for the MK3? I haven't used my bench for a while and as it was giving me the Sh@Ts not cutting straigh as the saw i got had to be modifiyed to fit the table and i have all the assories bar some and still can't make it do what i want.
So draging the table out again, i aim to get a better saw, a dust bag and drum and vac and set up a seperate router table as changing all the time also gave me the SH@ts. And get a good(makita) scms.
Deos anyone have any items for sale which may help?no a place online where i can get a good deal?
Can any one help someone like me so lost?
    Cheers!!!

    Default Triton Saw

The Triton saw is very easy to make square to the table top, has very little slop between the motor and base and very little wobble in the blade, compared to inferior saws.

If these are the casue of your problems, then the Triton saw will help.

If the setting of the saw in the table is the problem, then you will still have difficulty cutting straight.

If looking at having your MK3 as a dedicated table saw, have a look at the saw slide chassis upgrade and height winder kit. This will enable you to adjust the height of the blade from above the table, which makes life much easier, particularly if you are using a dust bag.

As for pricing, Katherine is apparently a beautiful part of the world, however not known for its diversity of shops. It is rumored on the foum that Bunnings will be discounting all remaining Triton Stock, after Fathers Day, which has just passed.

Also try the "Buy, Swap and Sell" page on this forum. I know you can get some excelent quality tools at very good prices there.

Have you considered using your MK3 as your dedicated router table and getting yourself a table saw?

The Triton saw is an excellent saw but a bit costly. I never had a "good" saw on my MK3 but with a little bit of effort I got it to work pretty accurately. I got a new TS last Christmas but still keep the Triton and use it occasionally. Might sell it one day. Good luck with yours.

Whilst the Triton saw is an excellent saw, making it square to the table top and fence of the MK3 is just as difficult as any other type of saw. The special lugs that are supposed to make it easy (with the upgraded saw chassis) do NOT work for the MK3, DAMHIK.

The easiest way of aligning your saw is to use my method as per this post.

    Cool Triton mk3 questions

The special lugs that are supposed to make it easy (with the upgraded saw chassis) do NOT work for the MK3, DAMHIK.

All thanks for your help, this is awsome!

But, it was said the the upgraded saw chassis "no not work" on the mk3. is it just the lugs and is there away around it. does it make the upgrade not worth getting?? coz it was somthing i was going to look into. Thou what is the problem with having the saw set up to cut max depth and just leave it at that??

Was also asked why not get a table saw. Well i would but haven't seen one the same size as the triton and can't imagin anythink that size would be in my budget. But open to ideas??

I am excited about getting a new 235 saw and even more excited if i can get it cheaper from bunnings, but i guess if this was the case i would have to be quick and it is a 600k round trip to my nearest bunnings, maybe i will give em a call and get one put away for me,lucky if they would do that. So is it true they will be no more triton? and along that subject what is with the green makita's??

I have the 235mm Triton saw on my MK3 , along with the chassis upgrade , height winder kit & dust bag . It works pretty well , & have been happy so far .
