    Exclamation Triton saw maintenance.

Guys (and girls of there are any)

Thought you may like to hear this.

yesterday while operating my saw, I could not get the thing to cut at the correct setting.

I tried several times to re-align the saw to the table, once when testing the saw, I noticed that when I started it, the blade "jumped" of centre several mm's

Taking the saw out of the table, I removed the blade, and noticed that the blade guard moved too much

Further investigation showed me that when the motor was started , the whole thing was forced out of the casing by the electrical forces of the motor.

It appeared that there are two small screws which are used to mount the saw guard and retain the motor in place, these are located under the saw guard, anyway.. these screws had worked loose and were causing me no end of trouble in aligning the saw.

So I hope this long winded explaination can be of some help to others. Regular checking of the screws should help avoid any future alignment problems.

    Kev

I try and do new things twice.. the first time to see if I can do it.. the second time to see if I like it

Kev, if you haven't informed Triton of this, you should. They, like any manufacturer, need field feed-back.

It may also be that this problem is peculiar to a particular production run. They may already have a field buletin on this problem, or should issue one.

By your description it sounds like there may be potential for danger here. What is your opinion on the danger potential involved?
