triton MK III set up
Hi all, having sorted my router issues (thanks for all who gave opinions), my next question is:
Is is worth purchasing a barely used triton MK III set up (work station, router table insert, slider extension table) for $500??

Personally I would recommend you check out the WC2000 before buying.
They have a more woodwork friendly setup - IMHOHave a good one

I am still using the mk3 triton but if I had $500 - I saw a second hand jet for sale for $650 so I reckon 500 for second hand triton a bit steep.
nothing wrong with the triton, just the price.

Those of you who think that the price is too high are probably overlooking the sliding extension table which by itself retails for approx$ 300.
Hence I think the price for the lot is okay.

Sound good to me - I'd go for it! I've been using my Mk3 since 1992 and its still providing great service

Gotta agree with Sturdee, that's good value.
I'd still try an offer of $450(ish) though... if they say no you can always meet the full price.

I've been using the MK3 since 1981. It's really came alive, when I retro fitted the the new mounting plate, height winder, and saw stabilisation bracket. Then I made up a crosscut sled, and it hasn't been in docking mode since.
My preference would be for MK3 off ebay, then retro the height winder. Than a MK3 with extension table, and the other goodies you've got on offer. The height winder kit makes a huge difference in the usability of the saw.
If you're going to spend the $500 now, and then add a height window kit later then I would say buy a second hand table saw.Last edited by chrisb691; 3rd September 2007 at 10:53 PM. Reason: typo
