    Default Triton Mk3 adhesive ruler

I have used and abused an old Mk3 saw table that I inherited for years. It is not a precision tools for me but the disintegration of the ruler is now a real problem. Can I get the adhesive replacement strips anywhere?

If no replacement strips are available are there any other suggestions?

    Thanks.

That specific sticker is unlikely to be available but stick on rules aren’t uncommon. If you can handle the 3-4 week wait HERE are some from Aliexpress, R-L and L-R scales and only a meter long. THIS is the search I put in Aliexpress; as you can see there are many variants.

If you get desperate Lufkin also make stick on rules and sell them in Bunnings; although that would be a bit of a drive for you. Also you may have to special order the R-L scale.

    Thanks Chief

It hadn't occurred to me such stick on rulers were so freely available. The Triton ruler has two scales as the table can be positioned two ways to give different distances from the blade to fence. At the moment I think I would have to buy four tapes and each one would have to be cut length ways (just trimmed up really) so the two scales could be accommodated in the 20mm wide depression in the table: One 0 - 260mm, the other 185 - 455mm unless I sacrifice the first bit and go 260 - 455mm on the wider scale in which case I could get away with two tapes. Depending on the width of the tapes they may have to be trimmed a little but that is not a big issue as even the stainless steel versions are not much more than foil.

Unless somebody comes up with a source for original style replacements I will probably pursue something along these lines. Although the nearest Bunnings is 80Km away, when you live in the country this is an everyday drive, which you try not to make every day! Save up a few reasons and cover them under one trip. However, Bunnys would work out at more than $20 for four tapes while Aliexpress is more like $12 including freight. Difference of $8 is not huge, but Bunnys have to order it in. SWMBO is going to Toowoomba tomorrow so that would be handy, but they may not get it in stock in time.

Thanks for all the info. Appreciated.

    Thanks Ross

A quick glance seems to indicate they don't go back to my models, which I think is 25 - 30 years old now. It is a good link though.

    Thanks Chrism3

No waiting, no fiddling with the two different scales and easy to apply. It's a no brainer. I bought them. They are not the original foil style but that is ok.

    Many thanks
