Default Triton Face Plate Sander discs?

    Hi guys,
I bought my Triton Workcentre, Mk 3, about 22 years ago. With it, I got an aluminium disc with two different grades of adhesive sand paper, one on each side, which fitted on to my 9 1/4 inch saw, (in place of the saw blade) to make a Face Plate sander. After 22 years, the sanding sheets are worn out and need to be replaced. Can anybody point me in the right direction to find some suitable replacement sanding sheets? They need to be pretty heavy duty (to last for 22 years!) , and preferably with a self adhesive back, and 9 1/4 inches in diameter.

They were once available in Bunnings (Triton Brand) but alas, no more!

    Thanks for your help.

G'day, you can grab velcro disc conversion kits of eBay for about $25, then you could put any grit you like on there. I bought one for the multi tool attachment for my bench grinder.

I bought a 178mm Norton Speed Grip Conversion pad for my Ryobi bench disc/belt sander on Saturday It also has the adhesive sanding disc Have to cut down to 150mm. Only saw the 178mm but Norton makes a number of sizes up to 356mm according to their website. Probably can order one?

Mine cost $10.40 from the big green shed

    Thanks, Godzilla and Lappa,

The trouble with the velcro discs is that they are a bit too thick. I have a Hitachi 235mm circular saw, and as it is, with the proper Triton sanding papers glued to the disk, there is barely enough room between the blade guard, and the arbour to squeeze the disc into place. I think that with the added thickness of the velcro, I would not get the sanding disc in.

Another member has PM'd me and might be able to help me out, so I will see how that goes before sending off to the UK, Stig. Thanks anyway.

    Thanks again, all.
