Triton Jigsaw, in Triton Jigsaw Kit
Hi folks,
I recently acquired a Triton Jigsaw (blulky but nice), and a Triton Jigsaw kit. Either I am doing something wrong, but the Jigsaw doesn't easily fit into the kit without some modifications.
The back of the Jigsaw is too long, and thus the backstop doesn't fit. I saw a post within this forum earlier saying that it is ok to use the jigsaw without the back stop, so I will just rig up a small screw anyway to ensure it doesn't move. It seems strange they would make this thing without having their own gear to fit.
The other issue is that it is slightly too far to the one side when I put the arm locator on. It doesn't seem to align properly. It looks like I will need to cut it a bit, or have the Tube plug hang out a bit. (Anyone have a suggestion how to pull the lug out again as it was a very tight fit, and I can't seem to remove it now).
So does anyone have any idea on how I align the arm locator plug without cutting it? Or have I done something wrong.
Thanks in advance.

Mines OK
Hi,
I recently also bought the combo, and had no trouble in fitting it.
It is still a squeeze to get the plate into the table, but its not too bad!
I too read the other post and was worried, but I was able to fit the backstop OK
Could you post a pic of the planer in the mounting plate?
I will do the same to compare.
Cheers
Tony

Pics
Hi,
Pics as promised.
As you can see, the backstop is in place. It is near the limit of its travel, but not right at the end.
The jigsaw works perfectly in this spot.
Cheers
Tony

I'm not sure how you managed to get the back stop in with the Triton, as mine definately won't fit. I will try and take some photo's over this weekend to demonstrate the problem.

I finally managed to get these uploaded. Sorry about the delay, but one of the ports were blocked so I couldn't get past the firewall.
Anyway, as you can see, the blade is very close to the front of the kit which interferes with it.
Also, the black part at the back of the jigsaw pushes the jigsaw to far forward, and had to be removed.

Lookig at Notmetoo and Tony's photos, it would appear that the mounting plates are different. It looks as if the back stop mounting hole may be about 10mm longer and moved sideways to avoid the black piece.
Triton obviously made this adjustment to fit their new jigsaw, as is normal practice. Interestingly there is no mention of this on the Triton website in either the manual or parts list. and the jigsaw manual has no mention at all of using it in a table.
As an idea. what if you were to move the jigsaw to where you want it and either glue a block of wood or similar as the back stop, or alternately drill a hole through the base of the jigsaw and use a long bolt to secure it.
