More on the Rockwell Jawhorse ...

In addition to Mitre 10, Tool Specialists (Toolies) in Newcastle, NSW stocks the Rockwell Jawhorse for $199.

How does that work then when Mitre 10 head office puts out a catalog (such as the one pictured above) - doesn't that force the individual stores to adhere to the price, even though Mitre 10 Head Office just said they can't do that? I'm sure they will provide some justification (we negotiated with each store, and everyone agreed - la la la). Perhaps individual stores should independently decide to stick to the RRP (add on extra if justified for increased delivery costs perhaps), instead of thinking they can scrape an extra 9.5% out their customers because they can.[/QUOTE]

Well damned if I know ,I went to my local M1O when the Fathers' day catalogue came out , they had a record 100mm bench vice for $79.00 and an Irwin clamping bench clamp vice for $39.00.
The store didnt order any from the catalogue for the Fathers day special stock, I asked if they could get me the vice and two clamp vices.
They ordered them for me, so far I got the vice at the catalogue price (no extra freight ) and they called me today to tell me the clamp vices had arrived,I will be picking these up tomorrow and I expect to get them at the catalogue price.
This is not the first time this has happened ,I've had to order quite a few things from the catalogue over the years and never paid any more than the national advertised catalogue price.
Just takes a bit longer to get the items.

Slightly off topic, but Home hardware individual stores don't necessarily all run the same catalogue A while ago I got a catalouge from my local store and was driving past a differnet one and dropped in to pick up a special, and found out that they have national, and "extra" catalogues

I saw that in there catalogue this week but I was thinking of getting the one that Stuart showed us. It looks more heavy duty. Plus you can get the accessories for it from the US.

Still waiting to see it in Oz, although it must be very close (based on timelines I heard earlier in the year).

I have not seen or heard anything about a Ryobi version of the Superjaws - are you sure you are not mixing it up with the Ozito version of "The Ultimate SuperJaws" that I spoke about on Stu's Shed last week?

Don't let the name fool you - there is next to nothing in common between a SuperJaws and "The Ultimate Superjaws". As I heard, that was a competing product that was going to launch that GMC bought to prevent it going head-to-head with the SuperJaws.

It's listed in the catalogue, but the website says it is unavailable:
Page 27 features Ryobi Super Jaws Workbench for $189

I did see the Ozito version on the weekend, it's hand operated rather than pump action, and looks like a really long bench vice.

Thanks Sparhawk - that has saved me a wasted trip to the almost local Bunnies.

They just keep sinking the boot in don't they. Just when you thought it might have stabilised, another fundamental component of the original Triton armoury is given away. Oh, I'm sure Ryobi paid a pretty penny for it, but it wouldn't be money that ended up in any Triton coffers.

Sorry, just lamenting the good ol' days.

Sorry Jack - that is still the budget version. We were referring to the US Rockwell version, that will be sold under the "Worx Professional" brand in Oz. They will be around the $260 price point or so.
