Default Triton ROS not working under load

I suspect that the ROS has just died, but before I chuck it I am looking for a second opinion. When the sander is switched on it comes up to speed normally. However, it looks like it is only spinning and not acting as a ROS. When placed on a piece of timber it just stops. Have pulled it appart and the brushes look OK. No "brown"smell or humming from the motor. The unit is about 2 years old and has had reasonable use for a home shop. Has it gone to God?

If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."

Mine did the same and I ditched it. Couldn't work out what broke but it had no random capacity and no drive from the motor. Certainly repairing an $80 machine doesn't sound practical when you can get another at a very reasonable price.

Stephen, mine has already gone. Same cost justification reason. Now the owner of Metabo SXE 425 Turbo Tec. Very happy.
