Default WC2000 rip fence numbers experiment

The top arm in the photo is my existing arm that is getting frustrating. It has only had five years of general home workshop entertainment.
Now I do two main things, cut melamine coated particle board (which should harmlessly glide over the numbers) and cut recycled hardwood (I suspect this is the number eraser). I also cut MDF, pine, ply and perspex

The middle arm is brand new. I wiped it with a wax and grease remover (prepsol, prepwash or similar) and sprayed it with clear enamel from a spray can and then 'baked' it for about five to ten minutes with my hot air gun.

The lower arm is straight out of the box factory finish.

I will put the new arms on the rip fence so that there is one clear coated and one factory finish and then cut wood and make observations.

I will report back if any thing dramatic happens or in about six months.

This should be interesting Blackhole. My numbers haven't faded yet (that I have noticed). But if this works, then I will clear coat mine before they start to fade.

    Cheers,
    Nathan.

    Too late for mine.

But it'll be interesting to see the results just the same.
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.
