Any Triton Users Near Pakenham?
Hi Guys,
Just wondering if there are any triton users near pakenham.
Me and three guys from work spent 3 hours yesterday trying to fit a 235mm gmc hardcore circular saw to a work centre 2000, One of the guys fired it up all you could hear was the saw screaming as he hadn't moved the gard support far enough back as when the blade was at full height it trapped the guard and so the blade lost a tooth, fingers crossed theres not too much damage to the saw, only bought it yesterday so its under guarantee.
I have used the saw today to cut solid wooden flooring, when the fence is set at 30mm from the blade, the material cuts ok until the last 3 inches of wood and then it gets slightly trapped between the fence and the blade.
I have tried shifting the back fence by 2mm to see if this helps , it only does marginally. We set the saw in the slide chassis as per instructions and it is tight to the blade with no deflection, but something is niggling at me that its not right, it's my first triton and i'm confused on how to get it right, watched video four times, also mitre gauge doesnt seem right, could do with some assistance if any is available.
Also bunnings (Narre Warren) are selling off a lot of triton ex demo tools i.e. new router $100, 18V plunge drill with two batteries $100, Jigsaw, $120.
Any help uch appreciated.

Grab that drill !!!!
If i wasn't working 6 days a week i'd be happy to help. Maybe you should check out the Triton Woodworkers Club. They meet the 3rd Sunday of the month at Holmesglen TAFE. That's this weekend. They would be happy to assist. just turn up.

Gday David
I live in Pakenham & have the GMC platinum saw in my triton. I wouldn't say mine is the most accurately set up unit out there, but it does the job OK for me.
Experience has proven Triton's setup manual covers pretty much all the bases, as long as they are followed to the letter in the correct order.
I'm not in the least bit an expert on setting up the workcentre, but am happy to come around & work through setting it up with you if you'd like, send me a PM (Private Message) & we'll tee something up.
Cheers....................Sean
