    Default Triton Wetstone grinder

Even though i have had it for six months, only just opened up my grinder and sharpened a chisel. I thought the result was FANTASTIC (yes have seen the pros and cons from other threads).

Given i paid $140 at ballarat woodworking show (thanks to tip from Stuart) excellent value for money.

Am wondering if Triton are offering any other jigs for these machines? Would love to try the kitchen knives etc! Could not see anything on triton website, so thought I would ask here.

Default SCHEPPACH HOUSE HOLD SHARPENING KIT (Hare & Forbes)

    Hi Steve,

I queried Triton a couple of months ago. Was told that there was no immediate plan for Jigs and they suggested that I try the Scheppach kits. There are 2 kits that both contain a number of jigs and represent good value - HOUSE HOLD SHARPENING KIT and WOOD TURNERS SHARPENING KIT. The Scheppach and Tormek jigs will fit the Triton grinding jig support arm, with the Scheppach being the cheaper of the two.

I purchased the Wood Turners Sharpening Kit for $129 and have been pleasantly surprised with the functionality and the price. This kit contains 3 jigs and a grinding stone dressing grader (changes the effective grit size). My chisels were never sharp and now they are.

I also purchased a Diamond honing tool and used this with the Jig 55 (included in the Wood Turners Kit) to true up the grinding wheel.

I will be getting the Household Sharpening kit for Christmas. It contains 4 jigs to hold knives from 40 - 200 mm, scissors and axes. [Much easier to justify this purchase to the rest of the family ]

Price wise I have seen both these kits for $129 - $160.

Stu has heaps of info on the Stu's Shed website. Enter Wetstone in the search field at the top right hand corner.

    All the best,

    Interwood
