    Default Triton saw won't lock

I've been using a Triton 10" saw on a Series 2000 worktable (both second hand) for about three years. Just recently (after putting the ripping blade back on -- if that provides any clues ????), the saw won't stay at full blade height. Sometimes, it will drop suddenly as soon as i turn the saw on; other times, the blade will slowly disappear below the table like the Titanic; and other times it'll stay locked at almost full height (but not actual full full height) for hours at a time.

It's got me beat. Anyone else ever experienced this and, if so, were you able to fix it?

    Thanks very much.

Sounds like the depth lock isn’t being tightened properly; you do know that the lever is a “pull to reposition” adjustable type? Tighten as normal; then PULL the lever as if you were trying to pull it off of the shaft and reposition it back to towards the loose position; let go and then you can apply more tightening force.
Nothing succeeds like a budgie without a beak.

Thank you. I did not know such levers even existed! I went back over to the shed earlier (after posting the question) and thought "Righto... I'll give it one more go..." and, while futzing about, just happened upon that weird lever behaviour. I guess I must have inadvertently fiddled with it when I changed the blade the other day.

If I hadn't stumbled across the solution, though, your explanation is perfect. Thanks again. Perhaps this post will help someone in the future when they search for "Triton saw not locking".

P.S. Error in original post. I should have said 9&1/4" (235mm).
