Guys,
gettin all serious now. I did send a PM to Hennie addressing him in his mother tongue with some hints that may help. Basically around the issue of what the plunge lock lever possibly not being adjusted correctly. I have had this after my router was taken in for a switch replacement. I do however also agree with the issue of dust (especially MDF dust) being a cause of some loss of fine adjustment capability when mounted in the table.
Regards
Les

Otherwise, I guess I'll let this continue, as after all, this is a community......of strange individuals and not just a pose a problem and wait for a solution kind of place.

A .net address is actually for network providers (such as optus, bigpond etc), even though they tend not to use the correct addressing either.

I still tend to assume that Tankstand is posting when I see it.
Conditioning I guess.

Anyway, I spoke to our local Triton rep, and he confirmed that they've had a few cases like mine. Apparently there could be a problem with the worm screw being miss-aligned, or having a maximum tolerance screw in a minimum tolerance tube... He suggested that I return the router to the shop I purchased it from, and they will then send it to the South African repair centre for a warranty repair. He also impressed me by adding that if they can't solve the problem they will replace the router with a new one.
So, carry on chatting, guys

... and suddenly, this thread is quiet
I hope no one took offence with my previous post - It was meant to be funny, not serious. If I did offend, please accept my apologies
Anyway, if anyone is interested, I've just uploaded a photo of my current project, and you can see the raised panel doors which I made with the Triton router. The thread is here: http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com...694#post167694

Hennie
Not offended by your previous post, us aussies can cop it on the chin .
I did see your post on the fish tank, very good work!!!!!!!! and I asked a question on the timber you used.
Getting back to the router problem. My mate a few doors down bought a Triton router the same time as I bought my Makita. I was p1#$$ed off. he got it for $399.00 and I paid $500.00. His router was everything you could have wanted, mine was lacking. His now has the same problem as Hennie's. We have pulled it apart, cleaned it, blown air through it etc, etc but still it sticks.
Have noted woodworker101 replies and advice and will check today. By the way I have given woodworker101 some greenies for copping it on the chin when not really deservedBruce
I never try and get my ambitions and capabilities mixed up, but a few cold beers, on a hot day, and well, you all know what happens next!
