Default Using the ETA300 Extension Table with the RSA300 Router Stand

The ETA300 Maxi Sliding Extension Table won't fit direct onto the router stand. You can swap the router table onto the WC2000 so you can use it with the maxi but that involves hassle. There are a few threads about setting up the maxi so that it will go direct onto the router stand.

There are a few suggestions that have been made.
    1. Make up a jig to allow the brackets and inner rail of the maxi to go onto the router stand. stephenmeddings has pics of his setup to do more or less this here, although he was actually fitting the old sliding extension table (from before when there were mini's and maxi's).
    2. Buy the inner rail and fittings from the mini extension table (which is designed to fit the router stand) but then use the maxi outer rail and sliding table etc. Sturdee does something like that here although he has to use some adaptor blocks because he was fitting the parts from the mini extension to the old style router stand (to which it was not a natural fit).
    3. Buy an extra bracket to attach one end of the inner rail of the maxi to the router stand. Then line up the WC2000 with the router stand so that you can attach the other end of the inner rail to the WC2000. Stuart Lees mentions doing this here
Option 1. has the obvious benefits that it allows the maxi to be used full length and with minimal parts purchase (just the additional brackets). But Sturdee mentions that Triton deliberately don't make an adaptor to do this themselves because they don't think the router stand is stable enough to cope with the size of the maxi. Does anyone have any comments on that? Presumably stephenmeddings hasn't nearly killed himself doing this yet or he would have mentioned it. But perhaps he's just been careful.

Option 2. involves buying more and building more and at the end of it the capacity of the sliding table is going to be smaller. I can't see any obvious advantages.

Option 3. is ultra simple and cheap, but is going to take up a lot of room and be a bit unwieldy I suspect, though both Stuart (and bob.jager who chipped in on the same thread) seem to reckon this solution's the bee's knees.

Most of the posts I have found on this topic are a few years old. Has anyone else tried out the above solutions or any others? How did it go? Thoughts, wisdom, ideas all welcome.

I went for option 2 as the mini inside rail is more stable with the router stand.
I usually only attach the rail when I am going to use it. Keep bumping into it with the sliding table not attached. The maxi table is a bit restrictive on the mini inside rail.
I have now upgraded my router stand to a WC by buying box 2 which comes with the legs and the 4 cross sections and buying the end panels.
I have found that it is a better option overall and its easier to get to the router but the dust is still a problem.
